How Your Data is Used
We collect information about your care when you use health and care services. We use it to help us and other groups with research into new treatments. It also helps with planning for resources.
This use is only allowed when there is a clear legal basis for using the information. It must be used to improve the health and care for you, your family, and future generations.
We only use identifying data when absolutely necessary.
Your Choices
If you’re satisfied with how your information is used, you don’t need to take any action. If you don’t want data used for research and planning, you can choose to ‘opt out’. You can do so securely online or through a telephone service. You can change your mind about your choice at any time.
Choosing to opt out won’t change how your information is used. It will still be used to support your care and treatment. You’ll still get an invitation for screening services e.g. bowel cancer screening and cervical cancer screening.
